Study volunteers need to live in the Northern California to participate in our studies.

Protocol # 278 -  To assess the effects of diet on cholesterol, triglycerides,
        and heart disease.
   Subject requirements: Healthy non-diabetic people between ages of 30-75 
        with elevated cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

Protocol # 502(a) -  To evaluate the relationship between high blood pressure, 
        insulin resistance, and heart disease.
   Subject requirements:  Healthy men and women with a diagnosis of 
        high blood pressure, may be taking blood pressure medicaiton,
        between ages of 25-75 years old.

Protocol # 502(b) -  To assess the effect of diet or an insulin sensitizer on PCOS
  Subject requirements:  Healthy women with a diagnosis of poly cystic ovarian 
       syndrome (PCOS).

Protocol # 540 -  A study design to evaluate the relationship between 
        type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
    Subject requirements: People need to be between 30-75 year of age. 
        With a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes and not taking insulin.

Protocol # 610 -  To compare two medications for people with combined 
        dyslipidemia (elevated cholesterol and elevated triglyceride)
   Subject requirements: Healthy non-diabetic people between ages of 30-70
        with elevated cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

Protocol # 611(a) -  To study the influence of a medication in reducing
        the risk for developing type 2 diabetes in a high risk population.
   Subject requirements: Healthy non-diabetic men and women with a family 
        history of diabetes between ages of 30-75 years old.

Protocol # 611(b) -  To evaluate a medication and its effect on risk factor 
        for heart disease in patients with type 2 diabetes
    Subject requirements: People need to be between 30-70 year of age. 
        With a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes and not taking insulin or 
        more than 2 diabetes medication.
